The Revelation book

i have heard the revelation book is being studied for the 4th time since it's release in 1988. we studied it once before i left in 1992. is it the same edition or has it been revised a few times?

What happens if someone does have a book study at their house, would they be dis-fellowshiped? So, in 2009 it is a big no no to study watchtower material aka book study along with others in your home other then your immediate family? What if someone does want to drive 5, 10, or even 15 miles to a house to study together, they can't? Watchtower wants to be in charge of everything?

i haven't really been reading much of the board lately so i haven't been "keeping up".

i have a family member who stopped going to the meetings for awhile and it was so nice to finally see them part of the cult, then tonight they said i have to start going to the meetings again.

i was wondering, is there anything that is being said or taught lately that they think they are missing?

What do the #'s mean?

i am currious as to what the number talks mean.

i read a few posts that refer to "i had to do the # 2 talk" or " i had to do the # 4 talk" .

and why are people assigned/forced to do these?.

Thank you everyone for the info. someone stated this: "They must stand on the platform and give their speech. Sisters are not allowed to face the audience so they have another person act as the "householder" prospective target" what is that supposed to mean or do.. and why? Please don't say it has to do with women should be seen and not heard.

I roll my eye too. but I look away so they cannot see me. I shake my head in discust too. and all those other words mentiond too are also horrible. it feels like I am hearing a dirty word. I want so bad for this religion to go away. not because one or another is correct but because of the crap they put the people through and the people think it is okay. im still working on an essay or just info that I have gathered. I will post on my web site when ready. does anyone know what calls for grounds for wts to step in to have someone remove sections off their site? I will quote and site everything and I know law so I should be okay.

the vocabulary! the word "truth" literally makes me sick! let me give you a quick behind the scene. first to recap and to inform newer readers to this board, I am not nor I have never nor will ever be a witness. I was raised around it not in it. I have family members and many friends trapped in this religion. they swear up and down that they are the only true religion. Many of them have never had a single day of college. mostif not all will probably never will. now to my point. im sick of hearing of people who have left the religion and then others saying that since they have left the "truth" they have no hope to live on paradise earth for ever. one friend who was a former witness stopped going to meetings. they stopped going to meetings and people said that he's only drinking because he left the truth. THE TRUTH THE TRUTH BLA BLAH BLAH F the truth! he still reads the bible, but not the bible of the jw witnesses. he reads a varity. he said to get a wider picture of what he's missed of all the years in a bubble of controled by the wts. I don't know of anyword that irritates me more its the one mentioned above. I am still constantly praying for more of my family and friends to burst their bubble and escape the lies of the 'truth'. okay im done venting now.

Society to start laminating paper backed publications

at the wednesday night ministry school meeting, a letter from the society was read announcing that wtbts paperbacked publications will begin to be laminated.

according to the letter, this "will save approximately 2 million dollars per year," "lengthen the life of the publications," and "increase the attractiveness" of the publications.. so there's that.. .

also, will someone please explain to me why 85% of the congregation started smiling and nodding at this.. i sometimes think that headquarters could send the congregations boxes of turds and the jws would act like it was the best thing ever..
